Rick: Instead of a stroker kit, get the block resleeved to 85 mm from Golden Eagle, get some eagle rods, and 85mm pistions at the compression ratio of your choice. Much cheaper than a stroker kit. Then you retain the stock rotating geometry of the motor, and the revvability.

hahah that sounds even more expensive

i'd have to take the block apart (which I can't do without destroying the engine) and have it shipped to them

I think that will be the long term goal for now. like 1 or 2 out.

I'll plan out the 240whp goal for now . more torque will come later

You can take the block apart without destroying it

Edit: Crower's stroker kits start at $2600, so I could only imagine what a JUN kit would cost. It won't be nearly as expensive with a sleeved block.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't even have the car yet... :chuckles:

bigger bore
and/or
higher compression
and/or
shorter geared tranny (i dunno how to get this done on an R though :exnbp: )
less weight in car (itll "feel" like more torque :exnbp: )

i don't want to strip the car. that would be a real shame unless I was building a full race (track) car.

bigger bore, might as well go with what dubster suggested and get it resleaved (sp?).

I'm not too fond of higher compression with the crappy 91 octane in CA

shorter geared tranny or the diff would work but where would I get one? short of a race tranny = probably 5-10K :dunno:

but i've decided the short term goal in now 220whp instead of 240whp. That's going to take more money and time then I have allocated

but who knows for the future :exnbp:
