Got a new garage :o
I wasn't intending to keep as much of that big pillar, and the cabinets I bought would not fit on the section of wall left behind, so I had to stick about 7" extension onto the end of the wall.

Then to clean up all the rough drywall.

Cleaned up a bunch of holes in the ceiling from the old flourescent shop light the previous owner thought was suitable for indoor use. Those can lights are new

Then I started tearing out the cabinets. The new kitchen layout requires moving the sink about 3 feet, so I hired someone to move the rough plumbing. After seeing the job they did, I probably could've saved a few bills and done the job myself. Ah well.

Once the kitchen was gutted, I put some paint on the walls. I also painted the window trim white, but I will probably have to do it again with some hardcore primer because the old stain is bleeding through now.

Put down some flooring. We put down plywood in the areas underneath the cabinets to cut down on the hardwood (expensive) and also to give us a "slop area" so we didn't have to make it so perfect around the cabinets. The wood is red oak hardwood prefinished in a "gunstock" color.
