Lodging, meals, drinks, and entertainment are all included into one set price.

Aren't these usually based on some kind of schedule with these "windows" throughout the day to take advantage?

Palmas del Mar, Puerto Rico....awesome place.

never seen that... Some restaurants and bars have opening hours but usually there is always at least 1 place to eat and drink at least till 3-4AM.

We did one when we went on our Honeymoon and loved it. We were free to do anything, and they would have rather us gone out and explored the island.

Jamaica was great, the resort was top notch, I can't think of a bad thing to say about the whole trip really. All of the people were really nice, plus they took the time to know your name, and anything you needed, they took care of. Will be going again next year sometime hopefully.

years ago my girl and i went all-inclusive to the Dominican republic. eh, it was alright i guess, but it got boring. i wouldn't go back.

we just went to st. martin recently. personally, i wouldn't do all inclusive there. too many restaurants and things all over the island, it would suck to be locked down to one place.

for me the best trips are where we can explore and experience the same things the locals do.

Did an all-inclusive with my family in summer of '08 in Cancun. I agree with what others have said, it's perfect if you just want to relax by the pool/beach, eat and drink. But probably not worth it if you want to explore the local scene and do anything adventurous.
