Default Job application question

So I applied for a job online last week that states that if you are qualified you will hear from a rep.

My question is...should I go in, introduce myself to the branch manager with a resume so he/she sees a physical person? Or is a practice like this frowned upon...

i've been trying to pick up a part time job in a local retail environment, everytime i apply i stop in to the store and at least say hi. don't know if its the same sort of place you looking at, but these people have the applications forwarded to their store and it's still up to the on-site manager to do the hiring so if you go in and make a face to face it can't hurt your chances as opposed to just clicking a button and hoping for a call. when they review those applications they will see your name and be like oh yea i met him, good guy

Seems everyone is going this route.
the other thing I noticed is that on site managers are simply key holders anymore and have no hire and fire capability. If the paper isn't sent to them by the head office then they can't do anything at all.

Pretty sad if you ask me.

I'd go in with a resume. It definitely won't hurt.

It won't help if the resume is given to a receptionist though. h:

If its a bank, branch managers have no power. I mean, literally, none.

I guess it depends on the bank. If its a small community bank, the branch manager may have more power. If its something like Chase/Wells/BofA/etc, he'll probably say he can't do anything.
