Lastly and what think is the best of both worlds and fits what you want perfectly is the Forester. Good on gas, built like a fucking tank, and will handle any amount of snow you can throw at it.

That vid is awesome... If i can find a 02-03, 6 cyl, leather interior, dual sunroof. I'm taking it. But I've noticed Subarus all have high milage here for some reason.

With my Mazdaspeed 6 I have awd and blizzaks but low ground clearance. Not really an issue for me though because most of the parts of town where I might need to jump snow banks, are not the parts of town where I go. If however you need to plow through piles of snow, the Mazda CX-7 has a similar drivetrain and is pretty sporty for a crossover/SUV. Only came out in '07 though so I don't know if it's cheap enough for you, and it'll probably suck down a lot of gas.

01-02 MDX is about the worst year you can buy, they changed a butt load of stuff on it in 03 to make up for faults in the 01 model. That and 9k for 107k miles...blek...if you do do it, you better make sure the t-belt and waterpump have been done, front struts, and the sway bar bushings front and rear or it is gonna thump all over the fucking place. That and the swaybar endlinks which had a design flaw in the joint. Also the 2001-2002 MDX suffered from extensive transmission failure like the older TL/CL but DOES NOT benefit from the extended warranty on the transmission like the TL/CL. Good luck!
