Official help me decide my future car
The depreciation on the Outlander is pretty steep, but it works to your advantage. You could pick up a 2007 XLS with 14K miles for about US$18,000 [link] and still get another 120K miles worth of driving out of it.

This. Write up your list and then go out and drive them all. It's also a great way of getting rid of annoying salesmen (or politely turning down people). Just say, "the car is nice, but I'm comparing it to X, Y and Z. I'll take those for a test drive and get back to you."
I agree with you guys I'm all iverthe place on this one. I did not want to spend alot so that why I was looking at the escape and Subaru. But then I got carried away and figured if the value is there why not go for the mdx or murano. Then I saw the A6 and figured that would totally be pimping!
Like I posted before what I'm looking for is:
-reliable
-easy to park in snow banks and small streets
-I'd like it to be comfy
-as economical as possible
-cheapest to insure and maintain
-should last me a good 4-5years befoe rust or total engine failure
that's what I'm looking for. Got some great suggestion till now. I just wanted to know if you guys had any experiences with the a6? Searched reviews and what not and surprisingly they look pretty reliable.

Ok so i tried the Escape, Highlander, A4 and Subaru legacy and here's what i think:
Escape XLT V6: i dont know if it was just this one but the inside finishing sucks. The plastic was rumbling and making noise before I even started driving. I was very dispointed. I'll try to test the limited version next time. The drive is self was ok but the inside just totally put me off that car.
Highlander 2002 V6: i def liked that suv. But again the inside just sucked. Hopefully that was just the one i test drove. everything else I loved. It's BIG a bit too BIG. I'm alone in my car most of the time so the size is really an over kill for me. But the power of the V6 was adequate for what i'm looking for. As expected the "fun factor" of that car is just 0. I'm expecting that from all SUV.
A4 2002 1.8t: Loved it, love the inside. I drove the car in like a foot of snow and had no probelm at all. Main problem with this choice is the cost of maintenance and insurance. I'd be scared to fall on a shitty, beaten not well maintaned A4
Subaru Legacy GT 2003: was fun to drive, power was good. The inside was way better then the SUV but stil not as cool as the A4. The only reason i'm not totally set on this car is the height. It's low(feels lower then the A4). I need to figure out just how important it is to get the height clearence of the SUVs.
Still want to try a pathfinder but gas would totally own me on that. Also gonna try a MDX.
