Not always. If you want super amazing awesome then yes...buy the copper core which for a 10 piece set costs $1200+. The comparable all-clad to calphalon in the same price range, calphalon actually wins in some departments.

that might be true, but all-clad cost a grip.

Do you have any cast iron skillets? lodge makes a really nice affordable skillet that works awesome. America Test Kitchen rated the lodge as the best buy.
We have a cast iron dutch oven that we take camping to make some tasty items.

I would have burned him with searing hot oil and then poured vinegar in the burning flesh. h:
My grandmothers was not passed to me that had YEARS of delicious seasoning...needless to say I was not happy that I didn't get it

Global ftw, my good set of knives is global, I keep them hidden from my roommate and friends because they have no idea what hand wash only means. I have a set of wuhstofs in a block for general purpose duty that I care less about.

yeh, i have a bunch of shitty, generic knives i'm keeping in the block in the kitchen, mainly because i don't trust the woman's brother with the whole hand washing and taking care of them. not that he ever cooks anything anyways. he just makes sandwiches and eats hot pockets.

thinkin' about getting these to start.

not at all. It's all about how the metal takes on the heat. Shitty pans can get too hot too fast or not hot at all. I have one All-clad pan and it's amazing compared to some generic pan I got from tj max

Global FTMFW FOR SURE!!!! I have the 7" santoku chef, 5" utility, 3.5" parring and they are AMAZING!

Had some Amazon gc's and coupons so I got the 3 piece set for like $50.

Also have the 3" vegetable Shun knife which is even better than the Globals. :jizzinmypants:

We just cooked eggs in the new pans and holy night and day difference from our other pans!

I think is anything we will get a super nice sauce pan from All-Clad for the super good shit.

I have this set:

I opted for the santoku knife instead of the 8" chef's due to the release ability of the santoku. I have had no issue with any of the knives.

Well you may use the best cookware, but I bet you use Pert Plus or Suave shampoo while I use American Crew :whatnowt:
