Today my daughter and I will be mixing up and soaking a couple pounds of meat for jerky.
Gonna swing by and pick up the wood for the smoker and some ingredients
Pretty much the same recipe Pete posted except going to use flank steak and cold smoke it with coal fired wood. I figure it will probably be close to a 48 hour smoke at about 120f maybe a bit less.
This will be our test batch right now as it's the first time I have done any real smoking.
Venison jerky is the TITS. My mom's old boyfriend used to smoke it in our garage and it made the whole house smell amazing.
Yeah next year I may get my bow tag for deer and see what happens, haven't hunted in years h:
Also thinking of doing a smoked turkey for thanksgiving but that's gonna take some planning for sure.
my friend's dad's girlfriend makes jerkey by drying it out in some vacuum thing in the kitchen. it's amazing.
the first time i remember touching any was way before that. i was probably 10 or so and my dad, his girlfriend (denise), and i were asleep on our couch (atleast i was pretending to be asleep) and i slipped my hand up her shirt. they were pretty small though. she pulled my hand down and then i went back up again, and then she pulled my hand out of her shirt. i think she thought i was my dad though. i just got up and got some water or something.
