As to the miata vs s2k comments, i disagree also. I love my car and am proud of it. I looked at the miata, and really didn't have the same love of the car that I do with the S. I bought it b/c of the passion in the heritage, the love of Honda and the fact that the car speaks to me. I could make a $1500 MKiii supra run circles around my S for the $20k I paid for mine, but I'd still be more proud to drive the S. Tell me 1 miata owner who's had exotic car owners sit in the drivers seat and show the same love of the car that I do. My boss drives a 7 series and a 911 turbo and was blown away by how the car was a true sports car that reminded him of the overall feel of his 911 (granted, different caliber cars...but a powerful statement none the less). All I'm saying is when you get to certain income levels and are still a car nut, you buy a car because you love it as a whole...not because of image, power, cost, etc. That's why I bought the S. Anyone on here who knows me personally knows I live very well and to compare the S2000 with a $1500 miata is rather insulting. It's like comparing an RSX-s to a 5th gen Civic or a Lotus Elise to an early model MR-2. Very different cars IMHO.

I dunno, maybe its just me, but of these cars, I prefer the 5th gen civic to the rsx, the miata to the s2k and the 1st gen mr2 is one of my favorites, but I'd be an idiot not to take the elise h:

I see your point, but to me the miata is a simple honest to goodness sports car just as much as the s2k. I will say that the s2k fit's my butt just perfectly though h:

I could never drive a Miata.

I daily drive mine, no problems at all...just goes thru rear tires quickly.

i drove eddie's old car.

i'm too big for it.

i like having cargo space/ability to transport passengers even though i may not always use it.

I don't think there is any way to compare how the S shifts, vs the Miata, the S2000 is still the best shifting car I've ever sat in. I see projects on Miata forms of them putting S2000 engines in their cars, but I don't see anyone putting a Miata engine in an S2000.

Well no shit. The miata engine is mediocre technology even by 80's standards. That's why you swap in an aluminum ls1
