and ya know what ... a further thought on all this

this guy is an elected official placed in that house by his peers to voice their opinions and represent their concerns when they themselves are unable to

and i have to say, job well done. he could have chosen a more polite time to do it but ya know what, we cant always be polite and respectful. he felt passionately about what he had to say and he said it and thank god we live in a country where thats a born right of every person here, regardless of whether you live in a box on the street or in a mansion in beverly hills.

it's not our place to punish this man, it's the job of people in his district to decide if his outburst still represents their beliefs and from everything i've read they agree it wasnt the right time but it isnt going to stop them from voting for him again. so kudos to wilson for not being a sheep

i'd love to see them attempt to actually punish him for doing nothing more than speaking his mind

I normally don't chime in these political threads, but I think my response doesn't favor any specific party.

I personally feel that Wilson's outburst was absolutely unprofessional, tactless and juvenile. For an elected official who "is expected" to represent his constituents in a professional manner, Wilson clearly showed his inability to act, discuss and LISTEN as opposed to simply REACTING.

It was unprofessional, it showed disrespect to the President and to ANYONE else who was making the effort to tune in and LISTEN. There are correct and incorrect ways of approaching this situation. Clearly (and as indicated by the majority response of both parties) Wilson was in the wrong.

I would be so embarrassed to be represented by someone who couldn't act right. At least make some fucking effort to resemble a professional and not some kid who got his feelings hurt.

That's all I'm going to say on that.

Agreed. When I heard the outburst I was disgusted.

That said...Miller has now raised over $750k against Wilson. Guess quite a few SC's feel the same way as your last point h:

miller's campaign doesnt even know how much of that money came from people within the state so way to make a claim thats unfounded

as a matter of fact most of the articles i've read that have interviewed ACTUAL constituents of his have said it was untimely and rude but it would not alter them from voting for him again

just because you're elected president doesnt mean you instantly have everyones respect.

i dont respect obama, i do however hold SOME respect for the office of president and the duties it brings with it. but the man garners zero respect from me, he has done nothing to earn it.

Obama has done good things already. Just because he doesn't allign with your ideals politically doesn't mean he hasn't accomplished anything constructive.
