yea this is that but in pistol form ... .600 nitro express is a fucking beast, i would honestly be scared to shoot that pistol. there really is only one larger "elephant" caliber and thats the .700

i've shot a .577 nitro express before and fuck that i never want to again, nor would i step up to a .600 or .700

glock dont make a .454 nor would your wife want to shoot it

you could look at a 44 mag ... with a little practice she could shoot it but glock no make 44 mag and it is on the larger side for pistols

if you're looking at glock look at like a G22 or G21 those are the .40 and .45 full size models

failed to mention 44 mag is also revolver based, don't know if that would make a difference for you

 

What I meant is that you don't really want a "bear gun" for home defense, nor do you want a "home defense" gun for bears.

 

for bear protection get a shotgun with 00 buck shot or the centurion multiball defense shot. if you were to say the handgun were for protection aginst smaller animals or random unruley hikers then go for it, but you need something serious to stop a bear. mossberg makes some survival kit shotguns. it comes in a tube that has a strap so your not broadcasting to everyone what you've got. either that or get a strap on the shotgun and openly carry it on your shoulder.

 

i wouldn't fuck with a bear with a 12ga unless it had slugs in it.

 

it would be more effective than a handgun.
