ha ... i'm still running on my T43 at work :wtc:
i gotta be close to a replacement here ... i think we using the W series now on all new orders. but based on the prices of the W series i'll prolly ask them to just buy me a MBP instead ... hopefully they will

The norm or standard is BS. Not that anything less is shitty. Still if there was one thing I could change without buying a whole new laptop it would be that they keys could light up when I want 'em to.

i like ibms simple solution. a low power light to light the keys. backlit keys... meh.

I just said, using hot keys or whatever esle it's called when you Ctrl+C, Ctrl+F, V, A or use F2 to rename... I can't even begin to name all the keys I use instead of using a mouse or mouse pad. It's just my way of computing which I consider WAY faster than what most people do.
And touch type? Really? That's only like half of what you can do with a computer. And yes, most people in the military can type pretty well though with every group of people there are exceptions. I thought it was completey obvious that I was making a very intelligent post in the beginning, and I was just saying hey, if you want a suggestion this might be nice but obviously it was a lot harder to understand than I thought it would be. Wow....

FWIW I have a HP dv2700T $900 14" 250gb 2gb ram 2.5GHz dual core. purchased about 1.75 years ago. it works fine. even has a HDMI output.
