Ha ha ha, I just keep coming back to this don't I?
It occured to me why I want lit keys the most though, because I like to use the Fn keys to dim my screen that always defaults to brightest possible when I turn off the light and I have to shield my eyes so light only hits the keys. Once I get it dimmed it's all good again.

Also, it is an option on the HP HDX16T as well.

I looking at the HP Quad with the i7-820 and pretty much loaded with every feature, including . which isn't a deal maker or breaker for me. Just a nice thing to have on long trips. Portability not really an issue, my current laptops a behemoth as it is and it just migrates up and down a flight of stairs mainly
