Gee, DVPGSR is a knee-jerk Republican--who knew? LOL...

I'm guessing that you also believe that W is going to make you rich, right? I guess you neglected to read the fine print, and failed to notice that $300 check was a loan, not a rebate. If you don't remember that Reaganomics failed, it must not have, right? It would be funny if we weren't discussing war.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Maybe it's time to take power out of the hands of dunces.

no... to put it short... desert storm was to liberate(not retake, contrary to views of the uninformed, we are not imperialists) kuwait and the UN mandate, post war, was for Iraq to disarm all of their WMD. just like most liberals, it seems you see only what you want to see to prove what you think is your point and not the whole picture, but arguing politics is a never ending argument. it is just fun though.

You mean Kuwait is now a democracy? Nope. Try again.

Yeah...how's that going? Not very well, I see.

You also failed to mention the perennial no-fly zones, and their role in our failed attempt at nation-building.

LOL...yeah, it's me who isn't looking at the big picture. That's funny! Let me know if you ever come up with an idea of your own.

I look at those polls and it means nothing to me...the people voting are AOL customers who obviously are not smart enough to realize there is a lot better ISPs out there let alone realize the truth in whats going on in the world. You liberals really need to get you heads out of the sand and come join reality and clearly see the whole big picture of what is going on.

this has got to be the dumbest statement made in the on-topic forum. props to you for saying it.

please explain. I want to know this big picture I'm missing. I mean, clearly I though I knew the big picture. I mean, where does a war get you? What outcome does it bring? What does a war really cost?

I don't see how someone for war with a country can tell someone against war that they are not looking at the big picture.

I think the real question should be "What terrorist event is going to take place agains Americans at home or abroad if we don't go to war?" That threat alone is reason enough to go to war.

Not really. My parents have an account, thus allowing me free access to the internet. I have no real grips with aol. Its just like every other isp.

hmmm....

one would think fighting would cause more problems.

come on, the paterns are evident. Look at isreal and palistine. Constant back and forth fight, because either side is to proud to step down.

the same thing will happen if we go to war. More problems will come. This won't fix anything except bushs emminent re-election.

Right...so 8 years of terrorist bombings on American interests around the world and Clinton did nothing to OBL. What happened...9/11. Now Bush is going after people with the weapons and the motive to hit us again and people complain. WTF? I mean really...have you not learned from history?

Here is what I mean...

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and
injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would
be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U. S.
military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be
hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed
19 and injured 200 U. S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those
responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U. S. embassies in Africa, which killed
224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible would be
hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured
39 U. S. sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be
hunted down and punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 2,800 people in
New York and Washington, D. C. that are now dead would be alive today.

Do you understand now? How much clearer do I need to make the case in point?
