I'd say very secure in terms that my job is a necessary one. Not only that but as the economy gets worse, crime goes up so my job becomes more necessary. That being said my salary also comes from taxpayers so as people lose jobs t hen our budget decreases. I dont think I'll get laid off but you never know really. So far the main effect I've seen is overtime has really decreased.
dude, it's actually affected people here in Tucson, during certain times of the week there is only like 1 cop every 15 mile radius. They've even started laying people off at the jail... mostly the senior officers that are getting paid too much for doing too little...

yea.... a good majority of my friends are Cops/Sheriffs/COs and they said this city is in deep shit.... we really are going back to Mexico

Mine is pretty secure although nothing is ever guaranteed in this world.
With fuel prices dropping and peoples short term memory loss they seem to forget that the price of fuel is going to shoot back up and even if not you can't afford to buy fuel if you don't have a job so a little investment now could save a small fortune over time...but hey what do I care really
