I am very safe, and even if this one does fall through, I have about 4 other options of things I could do in other career backgrounds and be ok.

Good thread topic. I've been wondering about the same thing.

At the moment, as long as Hospital Charity Committees are able to get sizable donations from Donors, and these Donors can buy pictures we shoot at the events, I'm ok.
Being that I'm in school to become a Therapist / Social Worker (undecided ) I'm taking notes to trends in Society to see where my talents can yield a nice income.

Uncertain because while I still have my job, we had quite a few layoffs a few months ago. I've found that the bottled water industry is very fickle and there isn't much long term security.

I'd say very secure in terms that my job is a necessary one. Not only that but as the economy gets worse, crime goes up so my job becomes more necessary. That being said my salary also comes from taxpayers so as people lose jobs then our budget decreases. I dont think I'll get laid off but you never know really. So far the main effect I've seen is overtime has really decreased.

Very Secure.... the company I work for deals with residential and commercial sites.... Shit always needs to get upgraded if we don't start from scratch, my boss is a certified/stamped engineer in multiple states so I need not worry as long as I get my projects and shit done on time.

Some of the firms that deal strictly with residential engineering have slowed down though and have had to let people go, our side of the planning has picked up a bit to the point where my boss is saying no to certain jobs.

With that said, nothing is ever for certain h: So if you guys have openings

if things get hairy with your bank, look into credit unions... while consumer confidence is low right now, the c/u business is pretty stable and c/u's as a whole continue to post growth numbers. the direct effect of the subprime crisis & other economic maladies on c/u's is much less severe than on commercial banks.
