I'm finally getting around to buying some guns to replace the once I don't know if I will see again since my ex is holding them hostage.
Here's one. The others are a Remington 700 in .270, a Remington 870 in 12ga and a Remington 11-87 in 12ga.

Took the AR to the range for the first time today and got it sighted in at 50. I'm in love. Now I just need an optic.

I figured this would be a good place to ask. I own one gun so far (a Beretta .22) and I have been thinking for awhile now about getting a second gun. I have owned the .22 for about 5 years. The 2nd gun will be used for target practice at the range (just like the .22 is). It would also be my primary in-home self defense gun (no CCW for me
). I was thinking that a 9mm would be a good second gun. What are your guys thoughts in regards to caliber, brands, model, reliability, etc?

9mm is great, some say that they prefer a slightly bigger caliber like .40 or .45 for a defense pistol, but I love 9. If i were you, id look into glock's 9mm. I love the 19 since it is small enough to carry yet isn't a sub compact. You may want to go slightly bigger to the glock 17 which is about the same size as a 1911. I suggest this brand because it is no-frills, accurate and reliable. Of all the guns I've shot, i love the glock and will own one soon.
Another option is also a revolver....
