I generally do avoid +P, I happen to have some because I bought some in bulk at a gun show and didn't realize it was +P. So, I'd prefer a gun that can handle it just in case it ends up being all that I have left after the zombies or Democrats launch an attack.

 

I wouldn't worry about it too much, even guns that aren't rated +p would probably still handle a couple of hundred rounds. (I think most sigs and xds are +p rated)

 

I've heard from quite a few people that the Taurus 1911 is pretty spectacular for the price as well. I haven't fired, but the trigger felt nice on dry-fire and the gun seemed well built.

 

Hi Gun Krew. I finally picked up a long gun. Simple Mossberg 500 with a 24" game barrel and a 18" "security" barrrel.

Picked it up and swapped for the shorter barrel.

- Swapped out the stock for a pistol grip with ar style adjustable stock and 5 shell side saddle;
- Picked up a Spec Ops tactical case;
- Added a cheap rail mount and tactical light;

Picked up a couple hundred rounds of mixed ammo (7 3/4, 00, slug, slug/shot combo).

I'll post pics of my M&P .40 sw later. Looking for a a cheap light for that too. 7+1. It doesnt like hollowpoints, but mods are in progress so it tolerates them better. For a 3" barrel, i put 2"groups at 7-10 yards. I love the gun.

 

details: taurus pt709 slim: 800+ rounds break-in so far.

 

Oh and I've had it for a few months now and I still haven't had time to make it out to the range. It's fire season here so open land is off limits
