family values is a totally moot point. Everyone loves their family and wants the best for those they love. Some choose to keep it private, as it should be IMO, while others choose to force their beliefs on everyone else.

I could go on about this forever but I agree, this is true. I have some very liberal coworkers and friends that I know care about their family equally as much as any conservative.

I believe the difference is the way they go about raising their family. Conservatives typically believe in structure and responsibility. Liberals seem to lean more toward rights and privileges. This shows when it comes to how each raises their family. Every kid and situation is different, it's a fine line to walk raising a kid. You need to provide dicipline and structure but also allow them to make their own choices and be their own person. All of the more liberal people I know give their kids a lot of leeway and freedom which is good in theory, since you hope they'll learn from their mistakes. In practice it can lead to a lot of problems with most kids. Granted, some hardcore conservative that restricts everything for their kids is going to have the problems too; some rebellious kid that hates their parents and grows up to be the Oklahoma bomber or some crap like that. I think moderation is the key. Nevertheless, I know a lot more conservatives than liberals that are moderate with their kids and end up raising a successful family. I also know a lot more conservatives that put their family ahead of work or play, which is more than I can say about my liberal buddies in most cases. Whether you're more conservative or liberal, spending time with your kids is probably the best way to assure they grow up right.

i am not voting for someone because they have good family values. look where that got USA with bush.

as for Palins family value's, i question them.
there is an arguement her youngest baby who is mentally retarted isnt even hers. but her daughters. when people in her office heard she was 6/7 months pregors no one believed it. Palin's water broke in texas, she gave a speech, flew 8 hours back to alaska. 1 lay over in seattle, and then drove to a remote secluded hospital in alaska to deliver the baby. that must have been at least 12 hours after her water broke. and no one on the planes thought she was in labor or pregnant. and now her daughter is pregnant again.

I don't hear that from ANY dem I've spoken to. I think most of the worry comes from the fact that she has a baby with Down syndrome, and THAT is a time intensive and completely draining responsibility on any parent. If she can have minders, which she will most certainly be provided, then it's not a problem.

I'm personally more worried about how she put a city of 5K into a $22 million debt so damn quickly as a fiscal conservative, is against pork barrel/Bridge To Nowhere yet still kept all the federal funding given for that bridge, is for areal hunting of wolves, fired the chief of police because he "intimidated" her...

Anyways, here's a letter from a resident of Wasilla:

Also, she's a terrible speech giver, and her voice is somehow more grating that Hillary's. It was beyond painfully obvious by her phrasing that she didn't write more than a complete sentence of it.
