Got it taken off. The teller made me see the manager, but he was cool. He took it off before I even explained why I thought it was stupid and then we started talking about vacations :dunno:

Banks have been charging these fees for a very long time btw so it's not something new. Some banks may have not charged it before, but maybe now they do.

Wells Fargo and BoFA have always charged these fees. I think they call it a Reclamation fee or some crap like that. The fee can actually be reversed by talking to Customer Service or the branch manager where you normally go to.

Personally, I would reverse it for customers with good accounts when I was still in the banking business....but that was a long time ago.

When I was talking to the manager I told him it was a silly rule and he said that its not meant for people like me...its meant for the people who always try to cash bad checks. He said landlords do it a lot.
