i have a few daiwa setups, but i'm a die-hard shimano guy.
also, while spinning setups are easier to cast, conventional reels keep the line from getting all twisty, which unless you're using really heavy weight shows up in the water.
my shimano is what broke last year :hs:
right in the middle of bringin in a walleye too ... had to pull the line in by hand and rig up the reel that night to get me through the week
never really had issues to bad with my line twisting. once in a while it would screw up but usually because i wasnt paying attention and let too much slack appear
I am pretty sure but I have never been able to break one yet...I will find out when we go pike fishing this year though.
i've broken a couple poles over the years. canadian northern get quite big on the lakes i fish. some lakes i'm the only person to touch them in a year simply because they are a pain in the ass to get to.
pike is one of the most fun northern freshwater fish you can possibly hook into. and if ya got someone in the group who can do the trick with cuttin out y-bones why its one of the best to eat too
The opening day of trout season is now only about drinking lots of beer all weekend for me.
:lmao:
you wanna talk about fishing and beer drinking ?
i'll try to find who has the pic of me last year on our way to our cabin ... two people in the boat, me and my dad. we had the beer boat ... 17 cases of labatts blue with him driving in the back and me sitting on all this beer ... water was just about to the top of the boat. 5 days later we came out with zero cases of beer ... only 8 people on the trip. thats 408 bottles of beer
