also, while spinning setups are easier to cast, conventional reels keep the line from getting all twisty, which unless you're using really heavy weight shows up in the water.
my shimano is what broke last year :hs:
right in the middle of bringin in a walleye too ... had to pull the line in by hand and rig up the reel that night to get me through the week
never really had issues to bad with my line twisting. once in a while it would screw up but usually because i wasnt paying attention and let too much slack appear
