Default Brand new PC giving me problems any suggestions

I just purchased a Compaq Presario SR5310F tower and i have it plugged into the vga plug in my hi def monitor with a SVGA monitor cable. The problem i'm having is when the loading screen pops up my monitor goes blank and "No Signal" scrolls across the screen. i have tried to go in through every possible way i could to figure out the problem but i just end up with the same result. my buddy said its either 3 things: the tower itself is bad, the hard drive is bad, or its trying to read or set up kernels and it cannot. has anyone ever had this problem? could it be my monitor. it's nothing spectacular just a 19" flat panel hi-def tv/monitor with 720p resolution. i know my explanation may be a little vague so if there is anything you need more info feel free to ask, i'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

first problem is you bought a compaq...
so do you see anything at all when you first turn it on? can you see bios options? does it just go blank when windows tries to load?

i can see the first screen that says Compaq really huge but when the windows screen pops up with the little loading bar it goes blank right after and the monitor will just scroll No Signal i left it on to see if it would do anything within the hour but i still havent seen no change. the only time i actually got it to do something was when i went into the boot menu and got a screen asking me to restore factory settings, backup files or return to a safe date. other than that i just get the black screen when it tries to set up windows. It's right out the box so i cannot understand why its having issues unless compaqs just suck that much h:

tried booting to safe mode but it says it cannot continue through safe mode because windows has not been installed yet (the pc is right out of the box which is why i cant figure this out) and the monitor is not a regular one its a lcd flat panel i had that i used along with my ps3/xbox360. i checked the plugs to see if any prongs are damaged and they aren't. i WOULD crack open the case and check the connections on the board except hp thought it was smart to rivet the damn case in place so thats not an option. i tried running at different resolutions, again nothing. it's weird that i can access all the troubleshooting menus and the boot menus and that other stuff from the first screen but when windows tries to launch i get the black screen. the one website i looked up said either a connection came loose on the motherboard or other corresponding inner parts during travel and i could try updating BIOS which i cant do if i cant get the updates online (i'm on my ps3 browser right now so my actions are limited)

these days the manufacturers don't finish installing the OS. this saves them time. my hp laptop was the same way. took another 2hrs to finish installing.

most likely the pc is trying to boot into a resolution that is not supported by the tv. find someone with an actual monitor (real computer monitor) and test that first.

i'll try it but what i dont get is why does it cut off when it tries to load Windows? if the monitor was the issue then why does it show the first screen with no problem. Either way i'll take your suggestion and try an actual cpu monitor if that doesnt work then i'm at a loss.
