For real. When I go and buy just a few things I can hit 100 bucks easy. I'd probably spend 300/month easily

I average $80 every 2 weeks and it actually turns out to be a whole lot of food. I eat very healthy and like to keep it simple.

if i had anything left at the end of the week, i still started the next week with 75 bucks (example if you have 5 bucks left, only take 70 bucks + the 5 you have left)

I saved a TON of money with this method

I've been thinking of doing this. Withdrawing all the money I spend on food/groceries and other misc expenses that aren't 100% necessary and paying for it all in cash. Since it works for you I'll probably give it a shot.

To the people that want to carry a set amount of cash, is it really that hard for you guys just to say to yourself, "I need to save, I shouldn't spend right now..." ?

I guess we all just have a different way of organizing our finances I have a tendency to walk around with the product I want to buy (game, clothes, etc...) for minutes before actually going to the counter to pay for it or returning it to the shelf. Those minutes I walk around I start to weigh out the pros and cons of buying a want rather than a need I once walked around Target contemplating buying a TV for 1hr before leaving because I didn't need to buy it God knows how many times I should have bought another Elite (or not return the 2 I bought already )
