I've been pretty good with my driving habbits lately so I think I'm doing well with that.

I use the grocery store loyalty card all the time, and I try to use coupons when I can.

Aside from that I limit my driving (gas is fucking expensive) which has saved me more than anything over the last 3 years.
I rarely go out to the clubs anymore due to your exact reasons, its so expensive.

I've already got a spreadsheet of what all my estimated expenses are. I've got everything planned out for a year roughly of what I need to do to pay my parents back, and what I need to do to pay off my credit cards. I've left myself $100/month for entertainment purposes, and gave myself $160/month for food. Those are both variables along with the price of gas, but I inflated what I'll need to account for a possible fuel price spike. So I could technicall pay things off quicker, but it all depends on what happens.
If my car acts up or something in my condo needs to be fixed it will throw a wrench into the plans.
Its proably going to be a somewhat boring uneventfull next few months, so I'm going to devot a lot of time to working out and rollerblading since that is pretty cheap to do. I'm sure my friends are going to think I'm a blast, but I don't care, I need to take care of this if it means I can have way more freedom in the near future.

how do you get into that situation and let yourself get that deep? I freak out when my card goes past $1000 and I can't pay it off right away.
