you have good stuff, just stick with it and use it properly. proper usage is the most important, not what you use.

i use a mixture of different makes of products. depending on what i need to do and what i've tried in the past.

Everybody seems to be a big fan of the random orbital buffers, but nobody seems to use conventional big boy rotary buffer here?

I don't own a random orbital to my name, but I wax frequently and use a lot of "fillers" (hand glazes mostly) once every 2 months to keep spider webbing and abrasion marks down.

I use a Dewalt rotary buffer once a year (sans getting a huge scratch or blemish) and a light cutting/medium cutting pad to give it a fresh shine again.

I typically do it in the Spring since winter tends to ruin everything anyways.

Rotary buffer takes more skill/balls to use...easy to burn paint. So for people who don't have professional detailing experience, and don't do it very often...no need.

I tend to agree, you need to know what you're doing/how to use them. But honestly most people can get away with using a random orbital if they keep up on it.

Where did you guys purchase the pc 7424 kits? I'm currently looking at getting the "Ultimate Deatailing Machine". Similar to the 7424

the UDM is basically a 7424 with a stronger motor that wont "stall" when you put weight on it.

the Prima system with the Lake Country pads require only the weight of the machine.

other systems, like meguiars, require 15-20 lbs of pressure.
