considering that I paid my friend almost the same amount last year to detail both of my cars, i dont think its that bad. h:

after i saw him doing it and making a huge clientele pretty much overnight, I thought to myself, why cant i give it a shot? I remember when I was in auto-tech school, I had an epiphany when doing someone's timing belt. There's no reward to doing maintenance work. You get a pissed off customer who just spent X-hundred dollars to get a car that drives exactly the same as it did when it came into the shop. I didnt want that.

at least with detailing, the results tend to be a on the customer's face with a big

the same can technically be said about doing performance mods on someone's car, but in the automobile aftermarket (especially japanese car guys), you find that most guys are just cheapasses.

and the guys that have money, go to the big name guys anyway.

I have a 7424 as well.
I use mostly 3M and Meguairs stuff for the exterior
Mother's claybar and Pinnacle wax.
Pads are Lake County from properautocare.com
For the interior I have Aerospace 303, Mother's vinyl cleaner, and Eagle1 leather conditioner :O

no secret. Reechy actually takes very very good care of his cars so it was very easy.

Just washed it then used Klasse AIO 2x. His paint was free of particulates so we didn't need to claybar the paint. That's all it was needed. I applied the AIO with an orange lake country pad using the porter cable set to speed 4. Working 1 panel at a time (except the hood. I did the hood in 4 sections), I applied AIO, let it sit for a short time then buffed it off with a crusty sock....

Just checking to see if you're paying attention

With a microfiber towel. I dip the orange pad in water (just face down for a few seconds), then squeeze any excess out (ring it out like a towel) then apply the AIO. Seems to work very well.

Now in your case, I would actually polish the whole car with Griots Garage #2 polishing compound then finish with #3 which is the finest compound. Then wash the car again, dry, then apply AIO.

I'm using Prima's products almost exclusively though.

Here's what I've done so far to the hood (no pics yet) to get the desired results.

2 passes with Orange pad and Prima Swirl

1 pass with White pad and Prima Swirl

2 passes with White pad and Prima Amigo

LSP is Prima Epic.
