I would put the effort in finding the rightful owner.

If that doesn't pan out in a given time period, then it should be finders keepers.

what a bunch of chior boys, no good deed goes unpunished. don't look a gift horse in the mouth. why is its someone else's responsibility for trying to pamper to someone else's needs if they were dumb enough to lose something in their possesion? How about the party that commits the error takes some responsibility for their actions?
Now if the property was stolen and not found that I agree that its messed up, but if you find something that someone left behind keep it. If you found some spanish gold in Florida or something, would you try to find the rightful owner(who's dead) or keep the bounty for yourself and the people that helped you discover the treasure?

Um..terrible argument skabone.

Have enough respect for other people's items to run by at&t. He didn't discover gold that's been loose for hundreds of years. His friend found a phone that was probably just misplaced by someone. It was an honest mistake.

Fuck that, what a waste of my time to go sit in line and waste an hour or so of my time to be a good person. I'm a freakin asshole, I'd rather use the phone as a paper weight before I'd waste my time to help a dumbass that misplaces their phone. Why is there pity for someone that was careless enough to leave their precious phone around? If you spent $500 for the ultimate gadget of the year and its the most import thing to you, how could you forget or leave behind something like that? If your dumb enough to leave it behind its not the responsibility of someone else to do the right thing. If I was dumb enough to leave my phone somewhere I'd take full responsibility for my actions, buy a new phone and do what I have to do. I'm not going to pray that some kind soul is going to be nice enough to return my property. I was a dumbass and I have to buy a new phone now, end of story.
