That is ridiculous. I am in Afghanistan right now, and none of the Air Force even leave the wire--save the flight surgeons, and air crews. You will be manning an air-conditioned checkpoint more than likely. NCO's aren't kept out of harms way either. When you become an NCO, then you will probably bitch about how much you are put in harms way as opposed to airmen.

Well, my last post seeded the idea to call up my recruiter and see what's up. He was going to call all of his DEPees (including myself) early tomorrow with the news.
I got my second choice (3C031), which after further research would have been ranked first if the liason's computer description wasn't so convoluted and in all caps to boot.
I leave for BMT April 22.
