Yeah.. He'll be fine. It's crazy how heavy all that new gear weighs.

I put on the flak vest helmet and belt.. SHEESH!!! THe vest alone will wear you out.

Yeah with plates in the front and back + 110 degree heat, it starts to weight A LOT.

hahah Sorry I hit a nerve with you. I have 4 buddies in Iraq right now all in airforce and all tell me all they do and all their friends do is NOTHING. Carry boxes around. Maybe its just them but to me, that doesn't sound like risking their lives for their country. Of course this does not mean all airforce like that but I picture those who don't fly, just sitting around moving boxes or doing some radar job.

Found out last monthy my sister is being shipped to Iraq for 18 mths starting next summer. She get's 30 days leave in July or around there before she leaves.:sad:

They are probably sergeants then. They are kept out of harms way, but airmen like me are not.

What branch? My sister is being deployed to the Philippines for humanitarian work.
