So does anyone have a iphone?
2g!=2.5g!=3g
2g = TDMA based network (time division multiple access) or CDMA (code division) (in the US) runs at 9.6 kbits
2.5g = 2g + packet switching ~ 150 kbps
3g = new technologies up to 2 Mbits (theoretically)

EDGE can carry data speeds up to 236.8 kbit/s for 4 timeslots (theoretical maximum is 473.6 kbit/s for 8 timeslots) in packet mode and will therefore meet the International Telecommunications Union's requirement for a 3G network, and has been accepted by the ITU as part of the IMT-2000 family of 3G standards. It also enhances the circuit data mode called HSCSD, increasing the data rate of this service.
class 4 and above are the only ones that come into the 3G standards but still arent generally classified as 3G.
EDGE is classified by most carriers as 2.75G
TRUE 3G such as HSPDA is being used in markets right now at 7.2MB/S download ... so uhh yea ... EDGE comes nowhere near that buddy
It may have some of the technical features but it most def does not have the download capability...
why is 3G > EDGE because 7.2Mbit/s > 300kb/s
EDGE can never compete with true 3G
it is considered such by the iternationnal body. The bottom line is users that complain about 3g and not 3g are complain just because of the marketing and not because they can actually experience a difference. YET...
thanks mr wiki ... maybe you should read more

Show me a 3G network that will allow you to go to 7.2MB/S please... just a link to a TElCO annoucing that is does that would be good enough.
