Why am I labeled the idiot for not knowing their native language in the United States? When my family came in here, we did not come in here expecting people to accomodate for our language, why should they, we were coming here to integrate ourselves into this society not the otherway around. If we had gone to another country we would have done the same thing...

It stupid that some people expect the government to spoon feed them all this shit...

backing more than 1 national language presents a barrier. only a idiot doesnt see that. if, as a governing body, you allow the creation of more than 1 dominating language before long you run into a issue. You have areas of the country that will effectively be shut off from other regions simply because they cant effectively communicate without a third party (translator). why will they be shut off like that? because if we accomodate their language they have no incentive to conform to the national standard and therefor close themselves to the majority

I used to deal with people everyday that only spoke spanish and knew like 2 english words. you know how difficult and frustrating it is trying to communicate with someone who doesnt know a word of your language. It pisses you off and eventually you stop dealing with them because they do nothing about conforming to the majority. Their services arent unique they can be found elsewhere, maybe at a higher price, but one that allows easy communication .... they alienate themselves by refusing to comply with the will of the majority

its a region... wether you call it a country or a province it's the same shit. it represents 25% of the population. the point is if a nation like canada/quebec can have 2 official languages so can the USA. saying that any country that has 2 languages is doomed is BS.
