My argument said to read scholarly journal articles. I even asked my teacher about it and he said it's not a matter of it being a conspiracy...it's a matter of big oil companies pushing a lot of money at the few scientists that disagree with global warming. They aren't good scientists...just the best paid. Go read some actual scientific journals and you will see.

The earth has seen two ice ages and come out of them. I see nothing wrong.

I completely agree. The Earth will be fine.

Humans are another matter.

No, I agree with you . Big oil does push a lot of the anti-global warming people. But I simple don't believe 100% of the climate change is caused by humans...and it's simply impossible to figure out how much we're affecting the environment since the Earth's climate is known to be extremely cyclic and we only have a little over 200 years of solid data.

true...and that is part of the argument that anti-global warming people use. However, the weather models that we are using now have been shown to be very accurate at predicting weather changes and explaing past weather changes. These models show that the amount of green house gasses being pumped into the atmosphere by humans is enough to cause changes that would have otherwise not occured (or not occured as quickly if you think the earth was changing anyway).

regaurdless I think the burden of proof relies on the scientist to prove that humans are not causing change (not the other way around). It would be unethical to continue polluting until we know for sure. By then it could be too late. Plus there is no harm in learning to be more environmentally friendly.

The only problem I have with this is that they are all predicted weather models. We can't very much know for sure short of being able to see the future. I don't trust predictions because they could honestly be false and we see that on a daily basis with weather predictions. Not saying that it is all false, and I do believe in the Greenhouse effect but the effect of humans on the scale to which is argued is what I am questioning.
