The vast majority of scientists (especially the top ones in their field) agree that global warming is real, it is a threat, and it is caused by human pollution.

Riddle me this.

Do you happen to have any actual EVIDENCE saying anything like:
- "global warming does not happen"
- "a significant minority of scientists may have found a reason that global warming does not happen"
- "most scientists are not concerned with actual science but instead only with making sensational claims to get their name in the media"

Or is this solely your opinion because the party line that you follow happens to have been banging this same old drum for years now?

You seem to be educated in some way shape or form, right?

The whole point of all this science stuff is that someone, by forming a hypothesis of what they think might happen, then collecting evidence to see if that something does or does not happen, can determine if that hypothesis does or does not have some truth in it.

But nah, I can't imagine all these scientists did any research, they're actually just politicians hiding behind academic titles that they were arbitrarily awarded by other academics who don't know anything either, all so they can trick the rest of the world into believing their wacky liberal ideas by quoting this religion called science.

FUCK THAT SHIT.

*edit* I'm sure that I will get a reply wherein you quote my post, follow it with two  smilies as if doing that somehow discredits what I've said, and then say NUH UH YOU'RE WRONG YOU'RE A STUPID DOODIE HEAD!!!!!

:dunno: i believe in global warming yes, but i feel its more of a natural thing, its happened before, its happening again, only difference here is there are some factors that are contributing to it happening at a increased rate. there are things we could do to slow the rate its happening down, but its a natural occurance that has and will continue to happen

oh and according to the jehovah's witness's that stalk me regularly when i go home, its because god is angry at us and its the start of the apocolypse :run:

Ok to all of you who say you BELIEVE something about global warming, climate change, or whatever else.

What led you to BELIEVE this?

Because I can BELIEVE something because I think the gorilla who lives in my briefcase under my desk is going to randomly stash turds in my lunch if I don't do what he says.

It is entirely different to actually have been presented with some sort of nugget of information and drawn a conclusion based on that.

Why is it that whenever someone argues against this shit they don't even bother to use LOGIC?

When did I say that global warming doesn't exist? As usual, you take everything out of context and go off on a rant.

i "believe" because i have doubts about what both sides state as fact. there is no way for us to know that this is a abnormal shift. there have been ice age's in the past, we dont know what caused those. so based on that alone you could hypothesize that we are now coming up on the opposite side of that pattern. Science has yet to prove 100% that what we are beginning to see is in fact a reaction of humans effect on the world. you can prove to me 100% that its totally our fault.

your the one who is hardline and isnt listening to reason. reason would caution us to be skeptical of something that we have no track record of. your basing your "fact" on data that has been collected over the past what, 200 years on a planet that has been around in the eyes of true science for millions and millions of years... pretty fucking small data range to be stating something as a fact if you ask me

One of the articles I was reading said something to the affect of "Almost all scientist and countries in the world agree that global warming exists and is a threat but the US is pumped with so much propaganda to discredit global warming that it is preventing us from reacting to the obvious threat."

When you guys talk about the scientists that disagree with it they are the vast minority. And they are using bad science to support their side. If you read scholarly journal articles by scientist in the field you will see that global warming is real and is a problem. It's politics backed by GW and the oil companies that are supporting the bad science to discredit it.

The US is so fucking backward it just pisses me off sometimes.

Yes, everything is a conspiracy by George W. Bush. That really makes your argument sound credible.

I don't discredit the fact that it is happening. I discredit the over hyped caused by uneducated persons citing some people as experts in the field. In addition the temperature data we've been using has been so isolated in comparison to the age of the earth 4.6 billion years.
