seriously, when you wanted to go out an get a tube TV back in the day it was easy cause all the features were pretty similar. you seriously have to do your homework on getting a TV now, more so than a computer IMO.

sony XBR is a over priced POS...well they are good but totally not worth the money...at best buy today i noticed that the 52 inch pioneer plasma was on sale for 2700$ (i think thats what it was) it was definitely in the high two's.

The SXRD is pretty much rockin' the shit right now. I never cared for flat panel LCD in the slightest. I like my blacks to be just that, Black. Not dark greyh:

There isn't a whole lot that can stack up againt a Pioneer PureVision Plasma, and it's the 50" that's $2799 right now.

Also, contrast ratio doesn't mean shit where there is not an industry standard for measuring it. Manufactures are pulling these numbers out of thin air

I hate to say this, but the "video processor" is just a gimick. Any of the Sony 1080P televisions look like complete garbage in Standard Def.

Granted it looks pretty good in HD, no doubt about that. The SD picture on any Sony 1080P TV is pretty damn bad.
