Trust me on this, I've been through the same thing. I kept contact for a while, and it was hell. As soon as I stopped giving a flying fuck and broke contact, my life was so much better.

I did the wrong thing and turned to alcohol and pain meds for about 6 weeks. Probably damn near fried my liver if I didnt almost kill myself. Don't go that way man. Its the wrong path.


Now in regards to how much she means to you, it was the same for me. I sort of saw it coming for me, so it wasnt a huge surprise, but was at the same time. I didnt want to break contact and it was really hard being best friends. You dont necessarily break off contact 100%. Just keep it limited. Try to stay off the phone, talk online and stuff. Maybe talk once a week on the phone, and try to limit meetings. It will certainly hurt longer, because you'll get that lovin feelin everytime you hear or see her, but in the end you may still be friends. If thats what you both want.


Thats the way I did it. It was tough for a good year. We'd either be really close or not want to talk at all... little inbetween. After a while ti will be better, and there might still be a hope for the future. If it ends up getting too tough tell her that and break it off 100%, and she might even reconsider letting you out of her life alltogether. Start seeing other people too.
