Default First Day

I did 1.5 miles in 30 minutes. I know that sucks for 99% of you but I think it's pretty good for my first time. :hs:

I also did a little bit of upper body but I was pretty tired and didn't want to overdo myself on the first day so I left.

I'll go back Monday and do some more. I'd like to be able to get up to doing 3 miles in the same amount of time.

gotta start somewhere, 99% of people are too lazy to get up from their fat asses and run 1.5 miles in 30 days... :goodjob:

You are a big guy Spanky so I would say you did pretty well honestly.

I can't say I am breaking any records on my workouts but it is improving and I can see and feel the effects which is the important thing.

Keep it up.

Good job Spanky!

In the beginning all I can stress is stay with it. Its hard to stay motivated until you start seeing results, but once you do you will be in there even more.

Are you trying to do anything with your diet?

Well I just started yesterday but the short answer would be yes. I don't know what, yet. My first step is going to try to eat less. Admittedly, I don't really eat THAT much. Today I had some duck over a bed of rice for a late lunch and then a smoothie for an early dinner. I don't eat when I work overnight so I'm fine until tomorrow. I'm going to go buy some fruits and try to curb my appetite for vegetables.

Dont think eating less = lose weight. The key is to eat smaller meals more often. Generally a meal every 3 hours is good. The reason this is good is because this keeps your metabolism going, which yields fat loss. Eating a lot less is terrible for your metabolism and the small amount of food you do eat your body just stores it.

You still can eat a lot of food and lose weight, the key is eating smart

Replace duck with chicken

Duck is amazingly high in fat content and I believe cholestoral as well. chicken would be the better option in that case.

Not harshing just letting you know is all

I didnt necessarily mean less than I should, just less than normal. Thanks for the info, though.

Thanks :bigok: I normally don't eat duck but that's what the mother-in-law had cooked.

nice. i have to bring myself to go to the gym soon. tonight is the last night of drinking, ill probably have some wine tomorrow during the games. monday im done. ive cut off smoking and ill probably drink maybe once a week.

i really want to go cross country skiing, since i know how much of a workout it is. ill probably try to go next weekend. id rather do that than go to the gym to run on the treadmill.
