F\/ck you Sprint!!
Yes, fuck you Sprint! We've had nothing but problems with them. Almost every bill is over charged for stupid nonsense things. We get terrible service with them and we've never been happy with them.
A few weeks ago my End button wasn't working and my phone would go between charging and not charging constantly, while plugged in. I was suprised they would fix it for free. Then early this week I noticed that some of my buttons wouldn't work everytime. It quickly got to the point where the only buttons that would work were my end button, 1, 2, 4, and 7. Thats it. So I figured, cool, I'll take it to Sprint and they'll fix it for free, or for very cheap. First off when I got into the store, there were 4 or 5 guys sitting behing the counter. I describe my problem to them and they all just stare at me. 10 seconds later
"Jack our tech is out today...."
Me: "Uh, well can you take a look at it?"
20 seconds
"You take it" 'Naw you go for it...' "No its your turn"
5 seconds pass and a quiet asian guy finally sighs "Whats you...."
"Excuse me?"
"Whats your ph...."
"Hmm?"
"Whats your phone number?"
I read it off and he slowly types it in
"Do you have insurance?"
"I'm not sure. I just got it fixed for free from Sprint a week or two ago"
"No.....You don't have insurance.. That will be 55 dollars"
"What?! Why so much?"
"Because...."
"Excuse me?"
"We have to send it to our corporate office to get it fixed"
"Well why didn't I have to pay last time?"
"I dunno...."
"That makes no sense"
"Oh."
"So if I take it back to the other place, I won't have to pay"
"No, you'd still have to pay"
"Thats stupid. Screw you guys." I turn and start leaving.
"You're eligable for a new phone in a couple months"
I stop and turn to him "Ha! You've got to be shitting me! We've had nothing but troubles with your customer service, over charging us, and dropping every other call! You guys a idiots. Screw that!"
I ended up getting part of my phone fixed so now I can sometimes go to my phone book, by taking it to a wireless place that repairs phones.
But now every phone call drains the battery, like 30 second calls. And it keeps flashing the lights and stuff. Oh yeah, I can't hit the end button so if I want to clear out a mistyped number(If I'm lucky enough for numbers), I have to call the number and shut my phone to hang up.
Would I be able to get a cheap phone from Sprint until our contract runs out, so my phone will actually be useful?
I don't know what to do. To break the contract its 200 dollars, but my phone is really useless right now.

i had the same problem my phone just shut off randomly. when i opened it up or when i was in the middle of a call. the screen was also broken. Verizon was the same way they said buy this phone out of contract for $150 or wait till the contract ends. the phone they were going to charge 150 for was a p.o.s. too. What i ended up doing was using my friends old phone and activated it with verizon till my contract on the broken phone expired. It's a pain, but really it's all you can do. buy a ridiculously priced replacement or get another phone some how
Be professional and call them. Call customer service and explain to them that reception is very poor in your area. You feel ripped off because you are paying for service that you are not getting. You have already upgraded the software or firmware. You have already taken it in for inspection. You have done everything you can, but you still dont get the service that you are paying for. They probably wont be able to do much. Tell them you want to talk to someone who can help you. Tell the same story to the supervisor. Repeat about 3-4 times in a couple week's period so they have it logged on their end. And eventually I got more agressive, but still remained professional and respectable...and they told me I can cancel the contract that had more than a few months still in it.
Or...I think you can change the billing address to somewhere where there is no coverage from them. Then they have to terminate it. YMMV.
