Default How to deal with a nuisance relative?

My uncle recently moved in with me after his divorce. Other than draining my electricity, food, and taking up my game room, would spend hours (5 to 6) online every night using dial-up. Everyday after he gets home from work, except for weekends, from 2:30pm to 9pm... he would be online, instant messaging his girlfriends or what not, making it impossible to recieve and call out of my home. Ok, I understand his wife cheated on him, hence the divorce, but I'm getting lots of compliants from other friends/family about me never answering my phone. Well, it's hard to pick up nor call them if someone is constanctly on my line. What also bothers me is that even though he's online... he would be on his cell phone too. Like, give me a break... just call your f*ck*n slut on your the cell ONLY. I've spoken with my father about this situation, and he tells me to be patient... that's what family do, we help each other in time of need. I don't know about you guys, but I really want to give this uncle the boot. It's been like this for the past five months!

I've asked him to get a wireless network card and connect onto my network since it's like 100 times better than dial-up, but his too cheap to spring for one since his dial-up is paid for the next year and a half. Also, the last several times he used my computer, he loaded all these programs (paltalk, other instant messaging crap) that came with spyware and a virus.

You guys have any ideas as to how I can handle this? I've been thinking about disabling his computer... But... how to make it look like it died on its own???

Is he helping pay the utilities?

Sounds like you need to put your foot down. Sure he's family, but he's taking you taking you for granted, and family doesn't do that.

How though? It's just me the wife, no kids... I did ... shhh.. at one point accidently open his case and knocked out a resistor from his modem, but dam guy had an extra modem. Was going to do it again but the wife gave me a weird look.

Nope... my father would not allow that since he belives this will help the uncle get on his feet faster. The wife and I got volunteered into this without us giving the ok. Like I said, that family thing you are suppose to do.

You would think that, yes. It's my dad's fault mostly... he still practice the old ways... I'm asian, if that would explain much of this "family honor" I'm suppose to abid by.

For some weird reason, his modem would not hang up or disable it that way... One time as I was leaving, purposely left the phone off the hook, and yet he typed away...

"He fell down the stairs, officer :wtc:", "I came home and I found him like that in the basement, officer :wtc:", "He left a week ago saying he was going out west and I haven't heard from him since, officer :wtc:" etc etc...

I would put my foot down...if someone was living with me for an extended period of time using everything and complicating my life then rules need to be installed. If it is only a short time (a week or two) then I am fine with helping out. But it should only take a month to get back on your feet if you aren't paying for shit.
