brown does believe the story is true. turns out the priory of scion was created in 1950's. but some plantard guy in france. and if you ask english scholars and such, brown potrays himself too much in the book. its not really characters but him preaching his beliefs.

deception point and that other code one he wrote were way better then davinci code. heck even angels and demons was.

can you imagine the reaction muslums would have if this book was about islam. nuclear bomb would be getting set off, all out war, people's heads would be chopped off left and right. at least christians can protest with some form of civility.

exactly. Christians are the easy target nowadays, and no one has any problems taking shots. it's called being "progressive."

this, as in the movie? i'm not bothered by the movie one bit, just as long as no one sincerely tries to pass it off as fact. i'll watch it eventually, most likely.

if you mean, everyone taking shots at Christianity? i think they should be treated with as much respect as we're expected to give to muslims, judaism, and any other religion. right now i believe it's heavily skewed.

Come on, if you read a fictional book, but portions are factual, the facts from the fictional statements start to become distorted.
You can not write a work of fiction without some fact. Otherwise people would just be reading jibberish. So you have to have some mix there, it's only fiction if people reading it understand where the facts stop and the fiction starts.

I believe we are smarter now than we used to be. Imagine if people were given this book, oh say 2000 years ago. It would be incredably easy for them to accept it as fact and give no idea to it being at all fiction. It's something so far beyond their comprehension, seemingly given to them by someone of a parental figure, they accept it as fact and know no better. Who knows, they might take it as such a fact that they might even start a religion out of it. Then teach it to their kids, who of course don't know any better and accept it as fact, this goes on for generations... oh ... wait... that's very likely what really happened.

qft

but you left out the parts about forcing it onto people who don't believe in the same fictional book you do.
