And I'd like to point out, the whole ashy skin thing was pure ignorance. Calling someone a whitey because most likely you've been mistreated by white people is a response.
you tell me. in high school, a black guy wanted to kick my ass because, "yo, you white, right?" i never saw his face before, not to mention ever even did anything to him. sounds like racism to me.

a columnist who works for AOL wrote it and AOL published it. the columnist and his editor, both being a part of AOL, allowed this feces to be published. so how is AOL not responsible again?

stop trying to think. it's not working for you.

The derogatory words used to describe a white person does not have that heritage, that pass related it. I have yet to see a act (physical apart from just being called whitey) of this "reverse racism".

I do also agree that sometimes the white man is accused a bit to anxiously of being racist. I didn't read the finger joke that everyone is talking about... so can't/wont comment on that.
So honkie doesn't have the history nor does whitey that the other words do. I can appreciate that so this makes it ok for me to refer to someone as a "ching chong"...after all it doesn't have the history of hatred behind it.

You may think I am arguing for the sake of arguing, but I am not. I am arguing that the line of reasoning you are using is wrong and it is still an offensive term regardless of the history behind it, or lack thereof

It was published by those who worked for and represented the company, therefore it is AOLs responsibility since they as a company hired these people to represent them and make qualified decisions regarding content.

that's irrelevant though. do you agree that that was racism?

that argument has never worked for other companies whose employees have made racist or offensive comments, that sparked outrage.

Maybe they had no idea. Stuff like this has happened before. Write AOL a letter about it. I have a feeling they would pull it if they knew about it.

the columnist and editor are representatives of AOL. AOL didn't retract the article. In essence, through inaction, AOL has condoned this type of racism.
