The problem is that our economy has learned to rely on the presence of immigrants. They have botha negative and a positive impact. Like they take the jobs no one wants for way less than the minimum wage, but then there's the medical issues. I'm sure the politicians are scared to just kick them out for fear of what might happen to the economy.

But they shouldn't be protesting. Get a fucking green card.

 

We live in a free market. If the illegal immigrant "wage" was suddenly removed, yes we would pay more for our low-market goods for a while.

However, overtime, the cost of those goods would work themselves back down due to the free market competitiveness.

In the end we might be paying slightly more for our goods, but we'd be giving the money to law abiding citizens who are interested in becoming productive members of society. People interested in being American, rather than being in America, sending money back to their home countries while they complain and try to get me to mold to their standard and culture.

Legal American immigrants built this country, and there's no reason to believe that we can't keep it going as it was. It was legal Americans that developed our industry, our computer systems, our vehicles, our produce and farm industry, and it was Americans who put us on the moon. Why is it all of a sudden an impossible thing to imagine us eating low-cost Avacados without illegals?

absolutely. i think the media is way overplaying our dependence on their supposed cheap labor. the gap will fill. it's not like they're offering life-dependant services, anyway.

 

But then why don't you think they government has enforced this? I believe that they know more about this situation than you do.

My parent's paid close to half a million dollars back in the 90's to get all of my Dad's relatives over into America legally. You know what I could have done with half a million dollars? I could have a brand new car, but instead I had to work and get my own car because my family went through it the legitimate/legal way. Furthermore 2 years after buying my own car I was hit by an illegal immigrant, with no insurance, but luckily I called the cops and they held them accountable. I'm really disgusted by those who don't play by the rules, I'm not racist but I they sure don't deserve to be here leeching off of us. This is a real hard sentiment to get out because basically every UC is filled with Liberals (mind you I'm a moderate split on my views) but when I say something like this I get bashed for being a racist or a conservative.

 

well said. Dammit someone just recently rear ended my car and when I asked about insurance she shook her head no and when I asked about a licence she shook her head no. So I wrote down the licence plate number and gave it to the cops and did I hear anything back about it? NO. Bastards.
Then last week the same damn thing happened to my mom and little sister. I swear, if I knew she was giong to take off I would have dragged her pathetic ass out of her car and at least give her a couple punches. Grrr.
