Deadlifts I think would be key.

Good Mornings, Stiff Leg Deadlifts and Hyperextensions are others.

just work out away from other people and throw down the weights if you're about to drop them.

you must start out with much less weight than you're capable of until your form is perfect.

If youre at the gym just ask somebody to spot you thats what i do....if they say no wait til they start lifting and fart right on their face.

yeah, theres nothing wrong w/ using light weights first to develop your sense of balance. once you get that right, just add more weight w/ your own discernment. free weights > machines

I never use a spotter...but then again, I have a smith rack with stops I can adjust.
