Is my view really so wrong?
i agree w/ nightshade and a few other people. doing it legally is the only way i see immigration being ok. thats how my family did it two decades ago and i know from experience how tough it was, but also how proud my parents and family are. i think that yes, it does mean much more to us than if we had swam here illegally or whatever. granted, im sure there are ways to make the legal procedure 'illegal', but thats a different story.
not sure if i missed this anywhere on the thread, but i do believe a big reason why the US turns such a blind eye to this is b/c of how much it saves people money. im sure if we kicked out all the illegal immigrants/workers here, we'd have inflation like no other. i know theres more involved to it than that, but i have a strong feeling that money is playing a huge role in this thing too.

Man, you've been a crazy mutherfucker in my book since my n00b days...... thats why I usually always read your posts. And yeah, as far as border patrol goes, if they cross it without permission then blast that ass. Trespassers will be shot on site!

As a Texas resident, I tend to side with Nightshade on this. I don't really think it would take too many people getting shot before it would make them think twice about crossing. If someone crossed, knowing full well what was waiting on them, who's fault would it be when they get popped? As of yet I haven't heard any legitimate answers for stopping illegals other than force, so I see no alternative. It's not pretty, but it's all we have.
I've been told that if you go to the border crossing in Jaurez, there are Mexican soldiers with machine guns and Hummers watching crossers to make sure no funny business happens. To me that seems to reflect their stance on lethal force.
If you don't enforce borders then why even have one in the first place? I'm sure the Middle eastern nut jobs who are gunning for us will have no trouble getting into the U.S. when they please. While we are locking down airports and federal buildings well within our borders, there are vast stretches in the southwest where anyone could stroll across praising Allah, locking and loading.

If you read my response to that post you would see the answer is more like 275k a year with 7 million living illegaly in the US, estimated between 93 and 2000 I believe. There is a link to the report as well.

what do we do with kids brought here illegaly by there parents, do they have a choice in the matter or is it "not our problem"?? what about kids born here of illegal immigrants?? the reason immigration policies are so controversial is because there is lots of factors that have to do with immigration, and for the most part people who argue against issueing visas or work permits only argue "you came here illegaly now you should be shot and killed/put in jail/deported/whatever punishment you think is fair, but what about the other cases like mentioned above?

Yeah that's a tough area with no one solution. You can only prevent so much, I think the focus would be incoming immigrants, not those born on US soil, etc.
