He's not going to fight anything, its not worth it to him. He'd rather just cooperate and pay everything and do everything, but he still does wonder about some stuff like that

 

I worked at a Target untill 4 days ago. They'll do this to anybody regardless of age, race, mental condition. They fined a 24 year old girl for stealing a 5$ pack of lip gloss. The security systems in Targets are fucking insane by the way. The security there has the power to arrest and handcuff you to this bench untill the police come. They can use force to if needed. The high fee is just because they can basically. But yeah, don't try to steal from a Target. If you do there's a 99.99% chance you'll get caught.

 

Other places call that "civil Restitution." Basically you are paying for other poeple that have gotten away with shoplifting...well thats what i was told. Here is my story...

Sad. In 8th grade my friends got caught shoplifting by an Undercover cop in Six Flags Great America, and i was with their group, so i got searched...

I bought a necklace, and stole a freaking RING...7 dollar ring n shit from one of the shops. Had no proof of a receipt for the ring...coulda just said i threw away the receipt. But the cop knew he could scare the shit outta us, and told us HE WOULD FIND OUT.

WHich was a lie...cuz there are about 100 little stores/booths that sell the same shit! THere is no effin way they coulda found out. But whatever, i was so young i didn't know, so i pussied out, and admitted to stealing it.

They charged me 250 bucks for "civil restitution" and i was banned from Great America for a year and one day . Wow life story...womp womp....sad don't hold it against me everyone. LoL.

Haven't stolen since then tho!

 

Well you're friend don't know how to steal. He probably walked in all sketchy, looking around him and acting so clearly paranoid. If it was his first time, security could have probably sensed it. Target is easy to steal from, but I always wouldn't recommend it. He'll probably get to do some nice community service if they charge him.

 

any idea abotu what the courts will do to him? Like I said, he has no previous criminal record, no previos driving record (not even a traffic stop), is a 4.0 student, and cooperated fully.

 

Prolly get him on petty theft if anything. Probably just community service.

 

Do you think $440 is enough for a pissing in public ticket I got? I think its ridiculous but Ill tell you what......Ill never piss in public EVER AGAIN.

not in texas they can't. if a security guard lays a finger on you, you can throw assault charges at him.
