Will football help me get in shape...
Do you think football is better then a 5-day a week workout plan? Im debating I only want to play football to help me get in a shape for lax season, im not that out of it but I dont want to play football and loose a lot of my muscle. and im scared to play football not knowing the outcome of if I will like it, im going to be a senior and i already went to two of the workouts and i question them vs a 5 day routine what you think?

It usually consists of 45 mins of pumping iron. and 20 minutes of running. Usually the three core lifts, clean, squat and bench.
Mine is:
M-Chest/Tris
T-Legs/Abs
W-Bic/Back
T-Chest/Tris/Abs
F-Legs
And usually 17-20 minutes of running at the end which is a lil over 2 miles for me.

I think so. Obviously he's not doing any cardio conditioning with his workouts, just strength training. He might not be as strong, but he'll be in better overall shape.

Personally you need more of a mix. I've seen a new thing at our gym called "Speed/Reflex Class" in which they do a series of actitivities to make you quicker and more agile. I think that's what you should add to your regime.
