BTW, you aren't finding an R for sale...I've been lookin for those and the Mazdaspeed MP3. If I find one local for a reasonable price, I will bic my head and post it on han...and purchase it of course

RS has larger displacement and larger lower RPM torque then the STI. More potential but less power out of the box. Build on some boost, tweak it, you'll be watching WRX - and if enough time and care is takin, STI owners shake there heads in confusion while they get smoked at that next Auto X meet.

Biased? of what?

I have to chime in and agree that the 2.5 rs would be the best route considering the money thats going to be involved here. The rsx-s wouldnt be a bad route to go either. Yea, the srt-4 is quick and all, but at the end of the day, its still a neon with a crappy interior.

RSX is fine if your worried about reliablity and you want a touch of class. The RS doesn't offer luxury interiors...in fact a 1st gen Dodge neon prolly has my interior class then the RS. But the over all build quality and performance will compensate. And I'm willing to bet, you don't give a damn about your synthetic burlwood interior while your twisting around the apex, trying to beat that ass in the vette that just laughed at your silly subaru.
