For the reasons set forth in its January 10, 2005 Order, and having entered judgment in favor of Plaintiff Immersion Corp. (Immersion), the Court hereby PERMANENTLY ENJOINS Defendants Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc., (SCEA) and Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc., (SCEI) (collectively Sony) from manufacturing, using, and/or selling in, or importing into, the United States the infringing Sony Playstation system, including its Playstation consoles, Dualshock controllers, and those games found by the jury to infringe. [FN1: The jury found that the following games, in conjunction with the Playstation consoles and Dualshock controllers, infringed either the '213 patent, the '333 patent or both patents:

Anyways, Sony will find a way to settle. Don't worry, PS2 will not stop shipping to US. They'll find a way.
Microsoft is probably going to get sued next.
maybe it's a different type of technology that responds to sound or something else besides the actions in the game....
maybe there are two ways of doing it.... like these games also respond to loud in game noises as well(at least thats what i'm thinking) ?
:edit:
and if it is somethign that measures the wave forms and makes the controler respond it might be more than just a simple thing like placing "controler shake" in the code... these are just my thoughts on why it could be only these certain games... not the actual answer.... but i figure it makes enough sense

as for the PSP, there should be 0 dead pixels for the screen that size, no question. sony is known to sell shoddy equipment anyway. every single playstation variation they've released has had one problem or another. and did they fix these problems for the owner? no. they had no choice but to buy a replacement console, or figure out how to fix the problems themselves. that was the case with PS1, PS2, and soon, i'm sure, the PSP.
