anybody heard about that dude from university of colorado, boulder that called the 9/11 victims "little eichmanns" and said they got what they had coming to them?

well yeah, much ado in the nation recently because a college in my town (hamilton.edu) invited him to come speak.... bill o'reilly tore them up last nite, the AP has had their hands in the fun, as well as some other notable groups and some others have threatened the guy and Hamilton.... so hamilton cancelled him, but is still insisting that they werent facilitating his views they also kept insisting that when people say they shouldnt have invited him to come speak that they were oppressing the 1st amendment

1st amendment gives you the right to free speech.... you don't need an amendment to tell you that you have the right not to listen

 

he's not destroying anyone's rights, he is speaking his opinion, it is in violation of the first amendment, then again, so is the censorship of such language by the FCC that they deem inapropriate....

 

and what orginization of any esteem (Hamilton prides themselves on being top crust) would facilitate such opinion?

i dont think that this is a discussion of the 1st amendment. i think it is a discussion of horrible judgement on the part of Hamilton when they decided to invite this guy and give him an auditorium, a microphone, and a croud to listen to his absurd views.

 

who made the crowd show up? who made them pay attention? who made them take what he said to heart?

 

but see it is a verbal and or writen binding contract to a promise to have him be there. they can pull out of that contract easily, but they are the ones that brought his right to have an opinion to the fight.

they are the ones who booked him and then canceled him, the only reason being his opinon, and therefor they are opressing his opinon, the surely are able to facilitate him

 

by giving him a place to speak, are you not saying "hey this guy said this and thats okay by us so here he is speaking to you."

no crowd showed up or paid attn, it was cancelled. read the articles, then come back and post something intelligent rather than "1st amendment rights" and nobody makes anybody come to listen...

 

this is not why they cancelled him, read the articles.

they cancelled him citing threats to him and the college.

 

but they will also cite "riot" or some other form of danger to the mass to get out of it most likey

ie. "we have people who are getting very into this and about to deck the popposing view right out of their peers"
.."in liight of this unsafe and dangerous situation we chose to cancel mr. so and so"
