If anybody joins ANY service to gain "applicable corporate experience", go the **** home.
Its possible to get the technical skills.. there are tons of P.O.G. spots. You just wont get that in the Infantry though.

I know someone already said this...but if anyone is ever trying to decide between the army and the air force, GO AIR FORCE! My friend is in Iraq (has been for almost a year) and said that everyone is jealous of the air force guys because they have like air conditioning and video game tents and stuff like that. Plus I also heard the training and physical aspects would be easier for air force. I have another friend who is in the army and he just got sent to Italy for a 45 days and he is getting paid $103 per day.
Whatever you decide, good luck and be safe!

well yeah..duh..Basicly Airforce is all brains with barely any physical efforts at all. I mean when it comes to Tech and that Air Force Hands down..But if you join the Military in any type of Infantry Form,Then I would want to be a Marine ( witch I Chose)....To me the sound of easier training and air conditioning tents with video games is telling me that AF is basicly not doing SHIT for the efforts in Iraq..While they are in AC and what not you have Marines at the frontline for 7 days straight fighting with little to no sleep.
Basicly chose yah priorities..TO each his own..Alls I know is when it comes to my Life and Joining a Military Branch to witch is sending me over seas..I would want the best training possible..Not video Games and AC..cause when it comes to close combat ,The enemy doesnt care how good you are at a first shooter video game..
Um, I think the point is that not everyone is all about that close combat deal.
Sure, there's a need for grunts on the ground in Iraq, but that's not why everyone signs up for a hitch in the military.
But don't pay attention to what I have to say, I'm a northeast elitist hippie liberal college student with no desire whatsoever to go near any sort of armed service, let alone even a government job.

They need you, remember that. Find what you want and tell them that that's what you want to be.

Right. Don't take any sh!t from the recruiters because they'll give it out all day long.
Something most people don't know is that the Air Force and Navy are making major cutbacks right now. That means 10,000 currently employed Airmen and 30,000 Navy personel will be asked to leave this year. The Army has a four week program now where prior service people from different branches can recieve weapons training as well as some of the different skills they would need in the Army, and of course they learn the Army's rank structure as well as the Army Values.
I'm not saying that getting into the Air Force will be any harder than before, because I don't have anything that supports that. Just a few things to consider.
